University of Primorska, Faculty of Education (UP PEF), is national higher education organization. It was founded in 2003. The main aim of the University of Primorska, Faculty of Education, is training and further training of educators, teachers and other workers in kindergartens, schools and in other educational institutions. At the University of Primorska, Faculty of Education currently has 102 professors and researchers. In the academic year 2019/2020 was enrolled 1718 students at undergraduate level and at postgraduate level. University of Primorska, Faculty of Education, has executed successful several national and international projects.
The core activity of the faculty is to perform the educational programmes within the Bologna-reform: Pre-school Education, Primary school-education, Education Sciences on the first level, Inclusive Pedagogy, Early Learning on the second level, and Education Sciences and Early Learning on the third level for regular and part-time study.
The scientific research of the faculty includes the areas of Humanities, Natural Sciences and Technology, hence it deals with:
- the development of modern competences in educational processes in kindergarten, student home, primary and secondary school, and lifelong-learning.
- the development of modern didactic models with multimodal and IT-approaches,
- the implementation of the results of recent scientific researches in pedagogical practice,
- the development of modern didactics of different subjects (languages, mathematics, natural sciences, arts, sports etc.) for all levels of education.
For this purpose, the Institute for Educational Studies has been established as a part of the faculty.
